Even with a stonefist, you don't always have enough time to get [steelfang slash] in. Sometimes you have to re-apply ["save yourselves!" (luxon)]. Sometimes your next attack gets blocked. Or whatever. I find that steelfang slash just doesn't work often enough to be worth a slot on a crowded bar. What does it really do that I'm not already getting with [dragon slash]?
Brawling headbutt is one of the best skills in the game for a War even without steelfang slash. Yes, KD on command is amazing. And the damage bonus is armor-ignoring. What's not to like?
I use [lion's comfort] primarily as a self-heal to take some pressure off healers when the going is especially rough. At 13 strength I get 102 healing for the cost of just a one-second pause. It's also good to get a shot of adrenaline, sure, but for me that's a secondary purpose.
I assume you mean [enduring harmony], right? It's a nice skill, I agree, but I'd have to sacrifice something for it, and I wouldn't know what to pick. In PvE, I don't mind the downtime of ["for great justice!"], and in PvP it sucks so bad that you wouldn't use this build anyway.
If I were playing with another War or Para who had ["save yourselves!" (luxon)], I might try something like this instead:
["for great justice!"][enduring harmony][drunken master][dragon slash][brawling headbutt]["go for the eyes!"][pain inverter][lion's comfort]

Paul, if you are using an IAS, you usually should have the time. Reapply SY after DS and before BH. If your team dies in the 1-2 seconds delay it takes, something is probably going wrong elsewhere in your party. Likewise if your attack gets blocked, you are probably using the wrong build for the area or attacking the wrong target.

Oh come on. Attacks get blocked all the time. All it takes is a single blocked attack to ruin the timing. That's the point. Besides, what does [steelfang slash] give you that you don't already have from [dragon slash]? I may as well just hit the guy with [dragon slash] and save a slot on my bar.

Give you something to do when you don't have FGJ! on you? I usually consider Enduring Harmony the first to go with the PvE skill buffs, as SY! lasts 5 seconds now from r4 onwards.

Steelfang Slash is for when FGJ isn't up, to fuel adrenaline for a near constant D-Slashing chain. As for blocking, paying attention works best for that.
Either way, if your Monks couldn't handle the party without SY for 5 seconds, get new Monks. Even H/H are better, and besides, you have GftE on your bar which steals 1 adrenaline off your other adrenal skills on use aswell.

Steelfang slash gives you five strikes of adrenaline IF you hit a knocked-down foe. Dragon slash gives you the same five strikes of adrenaline whether you hit a knocked-down foe or not. So why am I wasting a slot on my bar with steelfang slash?
And I do not have GftE on my bar. I said this was my bar:
["for great justice!"][enraging charge][flail][dragon slash]["save yourselves!" (luxon)][brawling headbutt][pain inverter][lion's comfort]
I don't see a skill there that I'd like to swap out for [steelfang slash]. Not even close, actually.
Anyway, I don't understand how this thread became a discussion about [steelfang slash]--which has been done elsewhere. I'm hardly the only person who finds it a waste.

The synergy between [skill]brawling headbutt[/skill] and [skill]steelfang slash[/skill] means you can keep someone perminantly knocked down if you so choose when [skill]For Great Justice[/skill] is up while actually gaining the adrenaline needed to spam [skill]dragon slash[/skill] Obviously stonefist insignia is key here.
I also agree someone else should carry [skill]pain inverter[/skill] and you might be better carrying [skill]asuran scan[/skill] considering it is now instant cast and the damage you will be dealing with Dslash means you running asuran scan is preferable imho.

I'm really not following you. While FGJ is up you can keep someone permanently knocked down by alternating between [dragon slash] and [brawling headbutt]. You don't need [steelfang slash]. If [steelfang slash] has any purpose at all, it's while FGJ is down. But it's not enough to keep someone permanently knocked down (while FGJ is down), even with stonefist and even with an IAS. Steelfang will give you five strikes while the guy is down, but you need seven strikes to get to brawling headbutt again. That means you'll have to get in more hits afterwards.

^ Assuming I am under [Flail] (which you should be)
Starting with 8 adrenaline
[Brawling Headbutt], ends up with (7 adr)
↓
Autoattack once, ends up with (8 adr)
↓
[Steelfang Slash], ends up with (12 adr)
↓
Autoattack once, to allow 1 sec recharge to pass
↓
[Dragon Slash]
↓
Recycle the chain again.
And if you really hate Steelfang Slash, you can always bring [Sun and Moon Slash] to do the [Sun and Moon Slash] + [Dragon Slash] spam combo while FGJ is up.

OK, I give up. The point isn't that I need something instead of [steelfang slash]. The point is that I don't need [steelfang slash].
You guys should use [steelfang slash] and have fun with it.

I thought godmode was [Warrior;OQkSEZKTLOAA8VxgGWmYXFCAA]
With [brawling headbutt] in the optional slot? since you can spam dslash as much as possible.

The purpose of Steelfang was for when FGJ was down. When it's up, you just spam D-Slash. I don't care if the target is kd'ed or not, if it's AI, it's probably standing still, so just do as much damage as possible. If it looks to be casting something annoying, sure KD it.
However, before Steelfang was changed, when FGJ was down you could go D-Slash -> BH -> Autoattack -> Steelfang -> repeat. Steelfang in conjunction with Brawling Headbutt allowed you to to actually spam D-Slash fairly quickly even when FGJ was down. Now that it's been changed though and it does not gain it's own adrenaline back this chain (as it were) is broken and so Steelfang isn't as useful. It helps as it's extra adrenaline will help recharge D-Slash, but since it can no longer recharge itself, things are much slower.
